What is controller?

An experienced accounting leader responsible for a company's financial infrastructure, including the chart of accounts, accounting systems, close procedures, documented policies, reconciliations, internal controls, and reporting for management and external stakeholders. For an early-stage company, the total cost of this function can easily reach hundreds of thousands of dollars each year.
